It makes me wonder too! Maybe it's because they're grabbing it with food in their hands, the crumbs drop in and who would bother to clean up? We have the same battle in our home.

with my old cabinetry I would always find wood slivers and stuff in each compartment. One day when dad was over I asked the same question you did and he said it was from the old drawer opening and closing the wood shavings from above the drawer would sometimes fall into the silverware holder. He was right!

We don't get other "junk in there" unless kids have full o' food hands and then reach in to grab a fork and drop some.

What I wanna know is how my walls get so dirty. I don't go around touching the walls all the time and I don't SEE the kids doing it but sheesh..the crap wiped across my walls is gross. Thank goodness for magic erasers!

In my line of work what grosses me out is the keyboard. Go ahead take yours now, turn it over, and shake it for 30 secs. Have fun cleaning off your desk...

i know what you mean! i like rhonda's theory.. or maybe food just falls off the counters IN to it.
although... i can't imagine your silverware drawer being dirty!!

uggh thanks...i had to go look in my silverware drawer. i think i have been in denial!!

but i do hate that!

hmm i wonder if they make a wired silverware tray...that way all crumbs and such would fall right through...and just your DRAWER would be dirty....which i like the thought better seeing is how i don;t EAT with my drawer! LOL

oh, and thanks for the comment! yeah i have to see if i can find an identical or at least similar blanket. it was one my mom gave her as a present for christmas...i found out this weekend where she got it. kmart here i come! LOL you make it sound like it's bad to have a 2 yr old that is attached...'mantha is 18 months. :)

my washer, well it's fine. LOL but it's just a regular top loader...i know the ridged drum threw me for a loop when i first saw it *shrug* maybe that's how they make 'em now?? it;s about 2 yrs old i think. the motor went out of our other (it got wear beyond it's years when troy's sister and her family with 6 kids lived with us for 10 months) LOL but our DRYER...now that thing has miles! it was a hand-me-down hand-me-down! it's one of those you WANT to die but it won't! it was given to troy's sister when they were young (young marrieds? i don;t know) and they bought a new one and gave us this one SIX YEARS AGO!! i'm sure our power bill would like us better if we got a new one...but this one HAS to dye soon right??! LOL and the washer that dies we bought brand new and lasted maybe 4 years! go fig!

Wow, look what one little question can turn into. Gross is all i have to say. lol

Denial is the happiest place on earth. Disneyland has nothing on it.

Funny Rach, too funny!

I have a metal or wire rack in mine, but still I think it is little fingers grabbing stuff while they have food in their hands, or if the drawer isn't shut all the way when you are standing there making something and well it ends up in the drawer. Yuck is right, but alot cleaner than most things in your house. Think about it???

Funny thought! But definitely true! I am very anal though, and I rinse everything that comes out of my drawers/cupboards before using them, even though they went in clean. Not sure where this came from. The worst thing is that I have found myself doing it at other people's houses too! Call my crazy!

WHY? Why? we may never know!

we have one that is mesh metal from wal mart so all the little cummies fall through it. I was wondering how everything was going since you haven't blogged in forever. I hope things are great.
